Parent & Toddler Groups

Children born with little or no sight learn differently from their sighted peers. Here at RLSB we are experts at supporting families with children living with sight loss, including those who have additional needs, through their crucial early years development.

Our Parent & Toddler groups are informal, friendly sessions for families and their children (aged 0-6). Each of our groups is run by specialist staff, including Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (QTVIs) and therapists. We support you and your child in developing:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Communication and social skills
  • Ease of movement and mobility
  • Confidence and creativity

Our personalised approach includes support for the whole family. While the children enjoy structured and free-play time and sensory sessions, parents (and grandparents, siblings and extended family) can share experiences and form friendships with people who understand.

Over the last year we are delighted to have expanded our Parent & Toddler groups, and now offer three locations in London and the South East.

Newham – Wednesdays 1:30pm – 3:00pm*

Tunmarsh Centre, Tunmarsh Lane, Plaistow, London, E13 9NB

Southwark – Thursdays 9:30am – 12pm*
