Mission, Vision and Values
Mission Statement
The Royal London Society for the Blind's mission is to remove barriers to personal fulfilment and social inclusion by providing a range of education, training and employment services that meet the needs of blind and partially sighted people in contemporary society.
Founded in 1838, the RLSB has a long and distinguished history in helping blind and partially sighted people to achieve their goals in education, training and employment. Today, we run a specialist nursery, school and college from our educational campus in Sevenoaks, and a Adult Support Services from Central London.
We are committed to expanding our support services for adults, particularly employment services but also housing and other community support services to help people to live as independently as possible and to play a full role in society.
We need the kind support of people like you to ensure we can provide the specialist equipment and the dedicated staff required to help adults and children with a visual impairment. A donation from you could make all the difference to the people who are blind or partially sighted who need our help.
Vision Statement
Our vision is a society where visual impairment is not a barrier to personal fulfilment or social inclusion.
Our Values
We also strive to achieve excellence in all of our activities through our 3 core values:
- responsive
- ethical
- supportive
Strategy
The RLSB's 3 Strategic Aims are:
- To develop an integrated education service for children and young people aged 2-25
- To develop and deliver relevant, integrated services for adults
- To develop further the central administrative team (CAT) to ensure effective delivery of the strategic priorities of the services
