Dorton House School

Front of the Dorton House School building with grass and pathThe RLSB's Dorton House School is located in Seal, near Sevenoaks, Kent.  Our approach to learning includes adapted teaching technologies, mobility training and therapies.

We specialise in teaching children whose Statement of Special Educational Needs indicates that a placement in a specialist school for children who are visually impaired is appropriate.

Children are encouraged to develop not only the necessary academic skills but also skills for independent living to empower them to live within a sighted world. The annual Summer School also offers pupils a rich variety of experiences and challenges to help them grow in confidence and social skills.

At Dorton House School:

  • The full National Curriculum is taught at Key Stages 1-4
  • Day places and weekly boarding options are available, dependent upon the needs of the individual child
  • We also specialise in supporting pupils with learning disabilities and additional needs
  • The Hollybank Farm curriculum is designed for School and College pupils to engage in pratical activities and began in September 2009

If you are a parent and thinking of applying for a place at Dorton House School you will need to work in partnership with your Local Authority. Please contact Dorton House School for more information.
